How to make a Birdcage Wedding Veil

October 5, 2011 § Leave a comment

Birdcage Veil

I finally completed the Birdcage Veil Tutorial.  This is the simple veil without the Flower Fascinators or the headband like my {previous tutorial}.  If you would like to learn how to make the fabric flower fascinator, you can click {here}.  This was a request from my very First Youtube subscriber Rosay84.  I greatly appreciate her patience and hope this continues to be helpful and easy for all those wanting to learn.

The Linda Bolero tutorial {How to make a bolero/shrug series} will be coming out the end of October.

How to make a Wedding Bolero or Shrug: Linda & Dawn {Sketch & Inspiration}

October 1, 2011 § Leave a comment

Boleros: Linda & Dawn

The next few tutorials will be on “How to make a Bolero.”  This will be a lovely way to cover up for the cool weather, add flair to a rather simple gown, or just bring the attention up to your lovely smile.  Also, if you are conscious about your arms or just want a little modesty, this is a great solution.

The “Linda” bolero will be a bold and strong design.

The Ordinaries: precut tulle, elastic, rose satin fabric flower, feathers, rhinestones

The “Dawn” bolero is a sweet and playful design.

The Ordinaries: stretch sheer fabric, silk flowers

Inspiration:

1. St. Pucchi style 9391 2. Melissa Sweet Style Talita

For the good of our Community

September 25, 2011 § Leave a comment

These lovely ladies have a lot to smile about.  Look at the beautiful Flower Fascinators they created in class.  Nkechi is a pro at crafting and Edith is a flourishing crafter.  Both are very talented young ladies that give their time and talents to their community.  They shared the idea about teaching young people and the children they work with how to make these beautiful fabric flowers.  It feels good to know these flower techniques could be passed on for the good of our community.  It makes this all the more rewarding for me.  Love it!

 Next class will be Tuesday Oct. 11, 6:00pm – 8:30pm.  For more information, click {here}.

A Little Something for the Birdcage Veil

business cards and hair pins

I can not wait to work with the students in the Bridal Accessories Class.  It is an opportunity to share my love for Bridal design & Sewing with new friends.  The students will learn how to hand-sew Fabric flowers and  wear it with a cute Birdcage Veil.  Since they will need hair pins to keep their hair in place, I thought a little mini gift would be fun…Enjoy ladies!

Looking forward to meeting you:)

{EVA Wedding Gown}

Today I completed Part 2 of 3 on How to make a Fabric Flower for the Eva Wedding Gown – the One Shoulder Flower Adornment.  It is a very easy flower to create and I just love the soft romantic effect from the chiffon and organza.  Using the same techniques, you can also create this beautiful Birdcage Veil Flower Fascinator & Bridal Sash to wear around your waist.

Here is the video tutorial….

Please click below for the fabric flower pattern {you can disregard the dahlia flower pattern.  I will share that on another DIY tutorial}  Enjoy!
